Don't worry, Cubs fans: There's still next year

The city of Chicago ÷ at least its North Side ÷ is no doubt still in mourning over the cruel twist of fate its baseball team was once again handed this week.

Are the Cubs cursed? Was it just bad luck? Were the Marlins really that resilient?

Or is there some other force at work here?

What happened to the Cubs this week was not indicative of the will of the baseball gods, but rather, their masters: the professional sports gods. [Read article]

It was evident that the players knew not only that they would be free from running sprints all weekend, but that they were also excited about having some time to kick back. [Read article]

Rugby Preview

Give Blood: Play Rugby!

That's the slogan printed on the t-shirts of the Arizona rugby team, which begins play today against Utah in Salt Lake City.

After going 10-4 last season, the squad is back and ready for battle. Led by coach Dave Sitton, Arizona will try to make it back to the postseason, which it missed last season for the first time in the last five years.

Although many of the players from last season are gone or have turned to coaching, the new faces on the team are as hungry as ever, and some have gained much needed experience this summer playing in New Zealand. [Read article]
