Two students were cited for possession of liquor on Aug. 24 at 2:37 a.m., reports stated.

UAPD officers were called to Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., when a resident assistant smelled what he thought to be burning marijuana coming from a room. When the officer arrived, he smelled a strong cologne odor coming from the room, reports stated.

The officer knocked on the door several times and the two students were asked to come out. He then asked if they had been smoking marijuana, and they said no.

They allowed the officer to enter the room to look around and he found a half-full, cold Keystone Light beer sitting on one of the desks. The officer asked one of the students if it was his, and the student said that it was his roommate's, reports stated.

Both students were cited for minor in possession and diverted to the Dean of Student's Diversion Program.


A female UA student reported to UAPD a threatening e-mail from an unknown person on Aug. 25, reports stated.

Sent from a UA e-mail account, the message contained her name and the words "die, die, die" immediately following. She did not know who the sender was and why the person sent it.

She did not know of any reason for somebody to send a threatening message to her, reports stated.


A UA employee reported the theft of his maintenance tools after he found the university van he used for work broken into after it was parked in a UA parking lot, 1420 E. Seventh St., reports stated.

The employee parked the vehicle on Aug. 23 for the weekend and found that the passenger-side sliding door had been popped open when he returned on Monday. He entered the vehicle before calling UAPD and found that somebody had stolen his tan, leather tool bag, reports stated.

He estimated the tools to be worth over $400, reports stated.

UAPD did not dust the car for fingerprints because the man had entered the vehicle. There are no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A woman called UAPD to report a suspicious man lurking around a car in the Main Gate Garage, 815 E. Second St., on Aug. 24, reports stated.

As she was driving out of the garage, the woman saw a Hispanic male wearing a dark T-shirt and black jeans standing next to a 2001 silver Daewoo with a smashed rear passenger side window. She stopped her car to get a look at the man, whom she reported to be 6'1" with a slim build and short dark hair, reports stated.

When the man saw her, he walked towards her stopped car. As he approached her car, the woman picked up her mobile phone to call police and the man ran off, reports stated.

UAPD and TPD officers circled the garage and the surrounding area but could not find a man fitting the description, reports stated.

A white 1993 Toyota pick-up truck was also found with a broken window and its stereo missing, reports stated.


A woman reported that her white 1993 Ford Explorer was broken into and her car stereo, speaker box and CDs were stolen on Aug. 25, reports stated.

The woman parked the car in a UA parking lot, 2603 E. First St., at 10:45 p.m. and when she returned six hours later, she found the passenger side door popped open.

The stereo equipment and CDs are valued at $900, reports stated.

Police were unable to find any prints and have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A male student called UAPD after he found that his bike was stolen from a rack at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Building, 1230 E. Speedway Blvd., reports stated.

The student locked his bike to the rack at 11 p.m. the night before and when he returned at 2:30 a.m., the bike, a silver Roadmaster mountain bike, and the u-lock were missing, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses and the bike was not registered with Parking and Transportation Services.


A UA CatCard was stolen from a female student as she was sitting at a table in the Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd., on Aug. 25 at 12:44 p.m., reports stated.

The woman sat down and placed her CatCard on the table. When she looked up 15 minutes later, it was gone. She never got up from the table, reports stated.

Police have no witnesses or suspects.


A UA student called UAPD to report his bike stolen from the bike rack at Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall, 910 E. Fifth St., on Aug. 25.

The bike, a fully suspended, chrome Pacific mountain bike was locked on Aug. 22. The student returned three days later to find that it and the cable lock had been stolen, reports stated.

The student had registered the bike with Parking and Transportation Services and plans to give the serial number to UAPD.

There are no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
