A student inquiring about his impounded car was arrested for possessing a stolen Zone 1 pass Monday, reports stated.

The student went to UA Parking and Transportation Services at 11 a.m. to ask why his car was impounded. The PTS employee informed the student that the Zone 1 pass that he had in his car had been reported stolen Oct. 10. The employee called police to speak with the student, reports stated.

The student gave the officers a name of a student who lived in the Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St. He said that the student living there would know about the pass, reports stated.

The officers went to the student's room, but he said he had no information about the parking pass. When the officers returned to the impound lot, they informed the student that the lead he gave them was false, reports stated.

The student declined to give any more information, saying that he did not want to get his best friend in trouble. Police charged him with possession of stolen property, reports stated.
