If alumni from two UA fraternities try to bring alcohol into their chapter houses this weekend, they will be turned away unless they abandon their beverages.
Phi Delta Theta and FIJI are the only two dry fraternities with chapter houses on the UA campus. These chapters have been dry since 2000.
Because they are nationally mandated to be dry, the two greek houses said they have planned events outside the house to entertain their older brothers.
Chris Bullins, Greek Life coordinator, said Homecoming is an important event for the UA and for the greek community. Alumni come back to their chapter houses to share experiences in the house, socialize, and even recruit men for employment.
When it comes to bringing alcohol inside the house, the houses said they are prepared to deal with any problems that may arise.
"It's an issue that we've always had to deal with," said FIJI president, Sam Catanese. "We're not too worried about it."
Bullins said most fraternity headquarters take preemptive action to inform alumni about fraternity policies prior to Homecoming.

"Most of the alumni love their fraternity," Bullins said. "They know the rules and don't want to jeopardize the fraternity."
Bullins added that the chapter advisor and the executive officer do a good job of enforcing the rules and are prepared for any confrontation.
"It's just not a problem," Bullins said. "So we trust them to deal with issues as they come up."
Kent Davis, president of Phi Delt, said the fraternity has an explicit protocol it follows concerning alcohol but has never had to use it.
"It's never been a problem," he said. "It's never come up."
In order to serve alcohol, Phi Delt hosts parties at off-campus venues.
Both fraternities said they plan to build floats for the Homecoming parade.
"We're just doing our traditional activities on Saturday," Catanese said, referring to the fraternity's breakfast and float preparations.
Both fraternities will have tents on the Mall tomorrow. Homecoming tents are allowed to serve alcohol.
