Police arrested a student after he was seen standing on the side of the road drinking a 40-ounce bottle of Steele Reserve Saturday, reports stated.

An officer found the student standing at 1050 N. Cherry Ave., drinking the beer. The beer was half-full and still cold.

The student admitted to drinking and was forced to pour the rest of the beer out. He was cited with a minor in possession charge and released, reports stated.

Police arrested a student Saturday after he was seen shooting off a fire extinguisher the night before in Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., reports stated.

The officers were sent to the residence hall because of a fire alarm and a report that a fire extinguisher had been discharged on the third floor. After reviewing videotape of the incident, a resident assistant recognized the man that had pointed the extinguisher out of a stairwell and fired it.

The officer called the student the next day and asked him what happened. The student said that he had no idea about the incident. When the officer asked the student what he saw on the videotape, the student said, "You saw me with the fire extinguisher," reports stated.

The student was cited on charges of disorderly conduct, false reporting, criminal damage and interfering with an educational facility.

Police are also looking for two other men that were seen with the student, reports stated.

A Parking and Transportation employee reported a parking boot stolen Friday after the car he placed it on a day earlier was gone, reports stated.

The employee locked the yellow parking boot to a blue Chevrolet Lumina on Thursday at 11 p.m. When he returned at 3 a.m. on Friday, the car and the boot were gone, reports stated.

After running the car's license plate through a university database, police found that the car had $275 worth of parking citations. The yellow boot was worth $300, reports stated.

Police will follow up with the owner of the car later, reports stated.

Police arrested a man for littering Friday after he was seen urinating next to a car near Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall, 910 E. Fifth St., reports stated.

An officer saw the man standing on the driver side of a white SUV urinating in the direction of the front tire. When the man saw the officer walking towards him, he turned towards the rear tire and continued urinating.

When the officer made it to the car, he noticed two pools of liquid near both driver side tires. The man denied urinating, reports stated.

The officer cited the man for criminal littering and released him.

Police arrested two men on minor in possession charges and false reporting charges after they lied about nearly hitting two resident assistants with their rented car Friday, reports stated.

The RAs called police after a tan car driving on the sidewalk nearly hit them while they were walking back to Coronado Residence Hall.

After their initial call, the RAs noticed the driver of the car and the passenger standing in the lobby. The officer questioned the two men and both denied driving a tan car, reports stated.

The officer smelled alcohol on the breath of both men. One man had a full Coors Light beer bottle.

After citing the two on minor in possession charges, the officer looked for the car in question. He was unable to find it near the residence hall, so he left.

He returned later that night and saw one of the men standing next to a tan car in the Coronado parking lot. The man apologized for lying earlier in the night. The officer also found the other man nearby, reports stated.

Along with the MIP and false reporting citations, the officer cited the man for reckless driving. The officer called the father of one of the men to pick them up.

A student who punched another man while a security guard was holding him told police that he was protecting the security guard, reports stated.

An officer watching the Gentle Ben's bar, 865 E. University Blvd., at 1 a.m. Friday saw the security guard break up a fight in front as people were leaving. As he was walking towards the scuffle, the student walked over and punched a man who was being restrained by the guard.

As the student walked away, the officer asked him for his identification. The student said that he didn't have any and was not in the bar that night,.

The officer saw what looked like a California driver's license in the man's wallet and asked what it was. The student said it was a fake ID and that he used it to get into the bar earlier that night, reports stated.

The man was cited for possession of a fake ID and assault.
