Two juveniles were caught stealing a car in a Zone 1 parking lot yesterday afternoon, a UAPD press release stated.

Police arrived at the lot, 1120 N. Vine Ave., after a UA employee called and told them that two juveniles were trying to steal a car.

Police followed the juveniles' car into the Delta Chi fraternity parking lot, 1701 E. First St., the release stated.

The juveniles in the car were identified as the two who had been trying to steal the car. Police also found burglary tools in the car.

Sgt. Eugene Mejia of UAPD said the burglary tools indicate the two juveniles might have stolen cars before.

"We'd say that there's a potential for them being involved in previous activities," he said.

The juveniles were arrested on charges of attempted auto theft, burglary, possession of burglary tools and criminal damage, the release stated.

Police referred them to the Pima County Juvenile Court Center.

Students with any information are urged to call UAPD at 621-8273.
