A man was assaulted Wednesday morning by an older man carrying an umbrella at the espresso cart near the Harvill building, 1103 E. Second St., reports stated.

The man told police he had had an argument with a female professor after he had accidentally run a stop sign with a golf cart.

The student said that a man approached him while at the espresso cart and said, "Lady you had an altercation back there; you better back off," reports stated.

The student said, "Enough already, I already apologized to her."

The man then grabbed the student by the front of the neck and pushed him back saying, "Back off."

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.

A man refused to leave the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., early Thursday morning, reports stated.

When police arrived, an employee said the man, who was not a student, had done that before. She said only students were allowed in the library after 1 a.m. It was around 2 a.m. when police arrived, reports stated.

The employee tried to wake the man up and asked him to leave, but the man wouldn't get out of his chair. The employee said the man smelled like a "brewery," reports stated.

The man was booked into Pima County Jail for trespassing. He also had a warrant from the Tucson Police Department.

The man was told not to return unless he planned on using the library for its intended purpose, reports stated.

Police found marijuana and two glass pipes Wednesday night after stopping a car for making an illegal turn at the corner of East Fourth Street and North Highland Avenue, reports stated.

The driver of the car said his friend wasn't feeling well and was having trouble breathing. Police smelled burnt marijuana, reports stated.

Police asked the passenger if she felt bad because she'd been smoking marijuana.

She said she only smoked cigarettes, reports stated.

Police saw a marijuana leaf and a seed on the floor below the passenger seat. The passenger and the driver both had raised taste buds and red watery eyes, reports stated.

The passenger gave police permission to search her purse, where they found a bag of a green leafy substance and two pipes.

The driver and the passenger were both cited for possession of marijuana and possession of illegal paraphernalia.

They were released, reports stated.

A student damaged a window and a fire exit sign at the Kappa Sigma fraternity house on bid night, Jan. 30, 1423 E. First St., reports stated.

When police arrived at the house, they were told that four fire exit signs and a window had been broken during bid night.

Several members witnessed a student throw a Gatorade bottle through the window and take down a fire exit sign on the second floor, reports stated.

The student admitted to police that he had been drunk when he jumped and pulled down the fire exit sign. He said he had not damaged the other three signs, reports stated. The student told police he had thrown the Gatorade bottle behind his shoulder, not meaning to hit the window.

The student said he would pay for damages. Kappa Sigma did not want to press charges, reports stated.

Police found a crack pipe Wednesday morning on a man near the bike rack at the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering building, 1130 N. Mountain Ave., reports stated.

When police arrived, they saw the man, who was not a student, looking at bikes.

Police asked the man to show them which bike was his, and the man said, "I don't ride a bike," reports stated.

The man allowed police to search his bag, and they found a metal crack pipe, reports stated.

Police also found two bolt cutters, sheers and a hammer.

The man said, "I can't stop smoking crack, man. It's got a hold of me," reports stated.

The man admitted to stealing bikes in the past.

He was cited for possessing illegal paraphernalia and for trespassing, reports stated.

Police found two men camping near the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, 1415 N. Sixth Ave., Wednesday night reports stated.

When police arrived, they saw the men with a bedroll and clothing. One of the men had a warrant with the Tucson Police Department, reports stated.

Police gave them a warning for trespassing.

The two men then left the area, reports stated.
