Reaffirming integrity's worth
The quiet rustle of blue books is the only noise to break the silence of the classroom. You're hastily scrawling answers when you notice it - the eerie but somewhat familiar feeling of someone else's eyes on your paper. You look up, only to catch a classmate's expression as he looks away, unconvincingly feigning innocence.
Such a scene may be fictional, but it's certainly not that far removed from the reality of higher education. The notion of academic integrity seems to be under siege, with the number of infractions seeing a marked increase in recent decades. Apparently, some students have what can most charitably be described as a casual relationship with honesty. And their numbers are growing.

Cruel election for lone senate primary loser
With 20 spots available for 21 potential Associated Students of the University of Arizona senators, one was going to have a pretty brutal loss. The honor went to Brian Olnick, who garnered less than 3 percent of the vote.
Nobody to complain with, nobody to mope around with. Just 20 happy people saying, "Sorry it had to be you."
We say "ouch."

Group wrongly calling itself ZBT
I am writing regarding your article "ZBT party ends in red tags, arrests." Zeta Beta Tau fraternity withdrew recognition from its colony at the UA campus in October.
The group had been told on more than one occasion that it no longer had the right to identify itself as part of ZBT. Nor were they permitted to use the signs or symbols of Zeta Beta Tau fraternity, including letters on a house.
