Men's Hoops Analysis: Scoring spurts spur Wildcats to huge win
Arizona senior guard Salim Stoudamire might have won the game with his jump shot with 0.6 seconds remaining, but the No. 11 Arizona men's basketball team couldn't have won if not for two scoring runs to begin each half.
The Wildcats almost sent ASU packing early after the first 6:11 of the game, when Arizona went on a 22-4 run using a combination of turnovers and Stoudamire 3-pointers to build a seemingly insurmountable lead.

Rain delays, errors mark No. 1 softball's weekend sweep
After two games, two rain delays and more miscues than either team cared to count, the No. 1 Arizona softball team needed a charge at home Saturday.
The Wildcats got it, thanks to both ends of their freshman battery.
Eastern Michigan center fielder Stephanie Sabo dropped Shelley Schultz's fly ball in the bottom of the seventh inning, and pinch runner Adrienne Acton scored the winning run from first base in Arizona's 3-2 win at Hillenbrand Stadium Saturday.

Baseball: No. 2 Longhorns scratch out pair of wins against Wildcats
Although the No. 10 Arizona baseball team finished its only scheduled series with No. 2 Texas this weekend, Longhorns coach Augie Garrido would not be surprised to see a rematch.
"He said, 'We'll see you in Omaha, Andy,' and I said, 'I hope you're right,'" said Arizona head coach Andy Lopez.
The weekend had a playoff feel to it, as the Longhorns took two of three closely contested games at Sancet Stadium this weekend.

Lightning shortens track meet
The Arizona track teams have enjoyed the early part of the season competing at indoor venues, not having to think twice about the weather looming outdoors.
Saturday, however, was a different story.
Lightning and heavy rain cancelled most of the events at the Wildcat Classic because of safety concerns.
"The rain is one thing. We could have delayed the meet if it was just rain," said Arizona head coach Fred Harvey. "But the lightning - we have nowhere to go here. We can't have the fans run underneath metal stands.

Laxcats avoid upset to Bruins
Coming to play the No.6 Arizona men's club lacrosse team means fast-paced, end-to-end action with little or no voice left at the end of the game.
UCLA arrived in Tucson yesterday to play a 1 p.m. game which had been delayed an hour due to rain.
The day had the word "slow" written all over it until a six-goal Arizona second half broke the Bruins' hopes and gave the Laxcats a 9-3 victory.
