Groups, officials endorse candidates
Both ASUA presidential candidates received endorsements from former candidates and campus organizations, in hopes to help spread the word and swing the election toward their candidate of choice.
All three Associated Students of the University of Arizona presidential candidates who did not advance to the general elections decided to endorse Cade Bernsen. Bernsen also received an endorsement from Sigma Alpha Epsilon and from Phi Alpha Delta, a pre-law fraternity.

Winter wonderland offers students break from heat
Although a warm Tucson breeze blew through the trees Saturday afternoon, residents of the Manzanita-Mohave Residence Hall, 1000 N. Park Ave., experienced a tiny winter wonderland in their own front yard for a few hours.
Despite the fact the midday skies were not as sunny as expected, the frost-covered grass in front of the residence hall looked strangely out of place on the cactus-embellished UA campus.

Some still upset over Moore visit
The presidential election is over and Michael Moore's crusade to get citizens to vote for a liberal candidate failed, but even with George W. Bush in office some alumni are still upset about Moore's October visit to the UA.
Some students working for the Telephone Outreach Program, associated with the UA Foundation, have experienced negative feedback from some alumni because of Moore's appearance.

RIAA prosecutes UA student
A UA student landed a deferred prison sentence and thousands of dollars in fines last month in the state's first ever prosecution of an Internet intellectual property piracy case.
On Feb. 10, Parvin Dhaliwal was sentenced in Phoenix to three months deferred imprisonment, three years probation, 200 hours of community service and a $5,400 fine for the possession of pirated movies and music on his computer in Mesa, according to Krystal Garza, director of communications for Maricopa County Attorney's Office.

UA mock trial team hopes to win in national competition
Students wishing to go to law school or who love the adrenaline rush of a good debate can test their courtroom skills in a campus club.
Jeremy Tor founded the UA mock trial team three years ago, giving students the chance to experience the atmosphere of a courtroom.
The mock trial team's performance two weeks ago at the regional tournament in Utah qualified them for the national tournament in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Tucson kids go camping at Camp Wildcat with UA students
Underprivileged children from a local elementary school experienced the outdoors this weekend on a camping trip with UA students and Camp Wildcat.
Camp Wildcat, a volunteer student-run organization that hosts weekend camping trips and various activities for underprivileged children, took about 60 fourth- and fifth-graders from Menlo Park Elementary School, 1100 W. Fresno St., to Southern Pines Baptist Camp on Mount Lemmon for fun in the mountains.

Hubble's demise a loss to UA research
Competing budget priorities for space missions and safety concerns for astronauts may add up to the death knell of the Hubble Space Telescope.
Funding for a planned servicing mission that would have replaced vital Hubble parts, like gyroscopes and batteries, have been cut from the proposed White House budget for NASA next year.
NASA saw a 2.4 percent overall increase in the White House's 2006 fiscal year proposed budget. The $16.45 billion budget included funding for planned manned missions to the moon and Mars.
