A man was arrested Thursday for possession of marijuana after police pulled his car over at East Speedway Boulevard and North Sixth Avenue, reports stated.
Police saw the man's car had an expired registration and did a records search on his license plate number, reports stated.
Police found he had four Tucson Police Department warrants for his arrest and an expired driver's license, reports stated.
Police pulled the car over and smelled a marijuana odor coming from the car, reports stated.
Police asked permission to search the car and the man said, "Yeah, go 'head" and said he had marijuana in the glove box, reports stated.
Inside the glove box were four plastic bags containing a green, leafy substance, reports stated.
Police later measured the marijuana and found the total weight was almost 40 grams, reports stated.
The man was cited and released on the scene.
A student found someone damaged his car sometime between Tuesday and Thursday in the Park Avenue Parking Garage, 1140 N. Park Ave., reports stated.
The student's car was scratched from the driver-side door to the fender, reports stated.
The student told police his car had been vandalized before, but he had no suspects, reports stated.
The student could not think of anyone who was upset with him that might have damaged his car, reports stated.
Police estimated the damage at about $1,000, reports stated.
Police have no suspects or witnesses.
A student's Juicy purse was stolen Tuesday from Cochise Residence Hall, 1018 E. South Campus Drive, reports stated.
The student said she left her pink purse on the stairs in the residence hall by accident, and when she went to retrieve it a half-hour later, it was missing, reports stated.
The student checked the front desk to see if the purse had been turned in but no one had seen the purse, reports stated.
Police advised the student to contact her bank and cancel her debit card, reports stated.
The student said her missing purse was worth $188, reports stated.
Police have no suspects or witnesses.
Someone stole a student's $1,484 laptop computer Wednesday night from the UA Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., reports stated.
The student said he left his computer in a study room at 11 p.m. and returned around midnight, and the computer was gone, reports stated.
The student did not see any suspects who might have taken the computer, reports stated.
The student did not know the computer's serial number, reports stated.
Police have no suspects or witnesses.
A man's $235 bike was stolen sometime Thursday at the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., reports stated.
The man said he secured his bike with a combination cable lock at 2:15 p.m., but when he returned to the bike racks at 6 p.m., both the bike and lock were missing, reports stated.
Police have no suspects or witnesses.
A student's $600 mountain bike was stolen sometime between Wednesday and Thursday night from the bike rack outside Manzanita-Mohave Residence Hall, 1000 N. Park Ave., reports stated.
The student said he saw someone had stolen the rear tire and the front forks Thursday at 7:45 a.m. but did not call police, reports stated.
The student said he needed to get to the Manuel T. Pacheco Integrated Learning Center and planned to call police when he returned, reports stated.
However, the student returned at 11:30 a.m. and the remainder of the bike was missing, reports stated.
Whoever stole the bike left no evidence on the scene, reports stated.
The student said he had locked the bike to the rack and thought it would be safe, reports stated.
Police have no suspects or witnesses.
A student found a purse Wednesday and turned it into police because she did not know how to track down the owner, reports stated.
The student found the purse outside of Gila Residence Hall, 1009 E. North Campus Drive.
The student, who also worked at Gila, found the owner of the purse lived at the hall last year, reports stated.
The student flagged down a police car because she did not know how to contact the owner, reports stated.
Police found identification in the purse and tried to contact her at Pima Residence Hall where she lives this year, reports stated.
However, the owner of the purse was not home when police tried to contact her several times that night, reports stated.
Police did a lost property search and the owner never reported the purse missing, reports stated.
Police are still holding the purse for safekeeping until the owner comes to pick it up.
