The loss the No. 10 Arizona men's club lacrosse team took against ASU last week has turned the Laxcats loose as they trek to Santa Barbara, Calif., for their second time in three weeks to meet No. 5 UC Santa Barbara in the Western Collegiate Lacrosse League quarterfinals tomorrow at 1 p.m.

Following practice Wednesday, Arizona (8-4, 2-1) completed the second half of its double session analyzing game tapes from their last meeting with the Gauchos.

The team said it has made adjustments and become attuned to what brought on the 10-6 loss to the Gauchos April 9.

"This weekend, we're going to have a chance to knock off some big boys," said junior defender Carson Parmelee.

Still, the Laxcats should recognize junior attackman Nick Stratton, who scored three goals the last out against Arizona.

The Laxcats have been refining their defensive positioning early this week to keep Stratton and his teammates fruitless.

"The thing about these guys is they're really looking for those good shots," said junior goaltender Charles Salemi.

The Gauchos (14-2, 4-0) are known to attack from all angles of the field, as the team has scored 165 goals this season with a top-10 scorer in the WCLL.

Santa Barbara defeated Chapman 12-4 Saturday, extending their win streak to four after tallying eight goals in the second period.
