Two assistant coaches for the Lute Olson basketball camp were cited Friday morning at Graham-Greenlee Residence Hall, 1418 E. Fourth St., for underage drinking, reports stated.

Police were called after one of the coaches passed out in the hallway.

When police arrived around 10 a.m. the assistant coach was sitting on a couch in front of a pile of vomit. The coach said he had had a couple of beers the night before at a party, reports stated.

The coach said he did not remember where the party was and said he did not know the name of the girl who had bought the beer. Police then talked to the coach's roommate who said he had drunk at the party, but said he didn't remember where it was, reports stated.

Both assistant coaches admitted to being 19. They said there was no alcohol in their room. The two coaches were from Australia and will be leaving the country soon.

The coordinator of basketball operation agreed to make sure the coaches took care of the citations before they left, reports stated.


A marijuana bud was found Thursday morning on a courtyard table at the Udall Center, 803 E. First St., reports stated.

When police arrived, office staff said they found the bud around 8:30 a.m. and did not know whom it belonged to.

Police didn't find any evidence indicating to whom the bud belonged or how it had been used.

The bud was submitted into evidence to be destroyed.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A man was cited for drinking in public Thursday morning after police saw him sipping from a plastic cup on a park bench at North Park Avenue and East Speedway Boulevard.

When police asked the man what was in the cup he said it was Old English 800. Police noticed the man smelled like alcohol, reports stated.

Police poured out the cup and the man was released, reports stated.


A $150 promotional Dr. Pepper bike was stolen sometime between June 14 and 15 from the Steward Observatory, 933 N. Cherry Ave., reports stated.

The student said he had parked his bike around 1 p.m. on June 14 and returned around 1 a.m. June 15 to find the bike gone.

The student said the bike was maroon and white and had Diet Dr. Pepper stickers all over it.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A $560 industrial paper cutter was damaged sometime last Wednesday or Thursday at the USA building, 220 W. Sixth St., reports stated.

When police arrived a UA employee said the paper cutter was fine around 2 p.m. on Wednesday. He said he noticed the paper cutter was damaged around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The paper cutter was broken into multiple pieces, but the damage didn't appear to be intentional, reports stated.

The employee said several employees have access to the room during the day.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A man on a bike attempted to steal a student's purse Thursday night while she was standing at East Sixth Street and North Highland Avenue, reports stated.

When police arrived the student said she had been standing on the corner waiting for her friend to give her a ride when she saw a man on a bike approaching her, reports stated.

The student said the man tried to take her purse off of her shoulder. The student said she held the purse tight so that the man wouldn't be able to get it, reports stated.

The student told police that when the man realized he couldn't get the purse he hit her across the face with a closed fist.

Police noticed redness and slight swelling under the student's left eye.

Police searched the area, but were unable to find a man matching the student's description.

Photos were taken of the student's injuries and put into evidence, reports stated.


A UA employee called police last Wednesday after an anthropology researcher's friend tried to bring his bike into the Geronimo building, 800 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

The employee said a group of disorderly males entered the building around 2 p.m.

She said one of the males was researching a project and was allowed in the building. She said when she told one of the other males that he couldn't bring his bike into the building he became angry, reports stated.

The employee told police that the male got in her face and started cussing at her, reports stated.

The employee said she just wanted the incident documented, reports stated.


A $12 alarm clock was stolen sometime between June 10 and June 14 from the University Services building, reports stated.

A UA employee said he borrowed the clock from a co-worker and put it in a drawer around 5 p.m. on June 10, reports stated.

He said he noticed the clock was gone around 10 a.m. on June 14. The employee said there was open access to the room so custodians could use it. There was no sign of forced entry, reports stated.
