Last day to buy Zona Zoo for basketball lottery

Students must buy a Zona Zoo pass by 5 p.m. today to be entered into the men’s basketball student lottery.

Initially, students were going to sign up for the lottery online, but because of technical difficulties everyone who bought a Zona Zoo pass this year has been entered into the lottery, said Amber Harryman, Associated Students of the University of Arizona spirit director.

Zona Zoo passes are $40 and can be purchased at the McKale Ticket Office.

Each lottery winner will be able to buy one full-season general admission season pass to the new student section in McKale Center for $72.

Lottery winners will be posted Sept. 27, according to the Arizona Athletics Web site.

ASA to hold annual voter registration drive until Friday

The Arizona Students’ Association starts its annual voter registration drive today that will continue until Friday.

Students will be able to register at any of the six registration booths on campus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, said Fernando Ascencio, ASA director.

Students must be U.S. citizens and at least 18 years old. They should bring an Arizona driver’s license or other proof of citizenship.

The campaign will also help ASA lobby to the state legislature by showing that students will vote and are politically involved, Ascencio said.

The general election for the City of Tucson is Nov. 7, according to the Pima County elections Web site.

Gateway grants available at UA

Applicants can apply for grants relating to co-marketing, marketing printing, Gateway satellite training, Gateway equipment and student initiatives.

The grant program is available through a five-year alliance that establishes Gateway Companies as the official provider for desktop and laptop computer products at the UA.
