Women's Hoops: Cats, free pizza await fans, Terps
Attracting 10,000 fans is a tall order to fill for most collegiate women's basketball teams.
But that's the goal UA women's head basketball coach Joan Bonvicini has set as a result of comments made that her program could not host that many fans.
"I didn't pick that number off the top of my head," Bonvicini said. "It wasn't anyone in the athletic department but basically someone said...that they (didn't think) the women could do that (attract 10,000 fans)."

UA welcomes baseball alumni
When the UA baseball team takes the field for the first time in front of fans this season, they should find some familiar faces in the other dugout.
The Wildcats host the annual alumni game Sunday at 12:45 p.m. at Sancet Stadium.
Alumni activities start at 11 a.m. with an autograph session, followed by a home run derby at noon. Both squads will have three hitters in the contest.
Junior catcher Nick Hundley said his team's derby lineup has yet to be set, and that the squad will be selected based on whoever hits the most home runs in batting practice.

Rugby team anticipates tough battle in Palo Alto
With its first conference win under its belt, the UA men's rugby team plays the first of two non-conference matches this weekend against Stanford today in Palo Alto, Calif.
The Wildcats are coming off a 44-20 win over SoCal conference rival UC-San Diego on Sunday. The win over the Tritons was the Ruggers' first match in 60 days, so the UA is still trying to work out the kinks.
"This weekend should be a good gauge of how good of a team we really are," said assistant coach Tyson Swetnam.
