An unknown person attempted to steal a student's Ford Mustang at Skyview Apartments, 1050 E. Eighth St., sometime between Feb. 2 and Thursday evening, reports stated.

The student told police she parked her car Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. and when she returned on Thursday at 5:39 p.m. someone had punched out both door locks, the trunk lock and ignition. The hood latch was also damaged, reports stated.

She told police nothing was missing from her car, reports stated.

The punched-out locks appeared to have been done with a screwdriver, reports stated.

Police found no investigative leads, suspects or witnesses.

A student's laptop was stolen from her locked office on the third floor of the Marley building, 1145 E. Fourth St., sometime Thursday, reports stated.

The student told police she last saw her laptop when she left the room, locking the door behind her, reports stated.

When she returned to her office she noticed her laptop was missing. The power cord and mouse to the laptop were still there. Nothing else from the office was missing, reports stated.

Police found no evidence of forced entry, reports stated.

The student told police several people within the department, including custodial staff, have access to the room at any given time, reports stated.

She told police there are several cameras within the building that work with motion sensors. She directed police to an employee who monitors the cameras, reports stated.

The employee told police he would review the tapes and contact AmerX for the log of access to the building during the time frame of the theft and give the information to police, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.

Three tires on a student's car were slashed while parked at Skyview Apartments, 1050 E. Eighth St., sometime between Feb. 2 and Thursday morning, reports stated.

The student told police he parked his car on Feb. 2 at 10 p.m. on the northeast side of the building, reports stated.

He told police a friend went out to the car on Thursday at 6:30 a.m. and discovered both right-side tires and the left rear tire had been slashed, reports stated.

The student told police he had the car towed to a repair shop and does not suspect anyone in particular, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.

A student's bike was stolen from the Communication building, 1103 E. University Blvd., sometime Thursday afternoon, reports stated.

The student told police she locked her bike with a U-Lock through the bike tire and a cable lock through the front tire and frame at 11 a.m. When she returned at 2 p.m. the bike was missing.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.

An unknown person vandalized the west elevator at the Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd., Saturday night, reports stated.

An employee told police the elevator was not damaged at 7 p.m. when he checked it, but when he checked it at 9 p.m. it was, reports stated.

On the rear wall of the elevator the word "mess" was written in caulk and there was a smear of caulk on the inside of the elevator doors. There was also illegible writing on the west wall of the elevator in black marker, reports stated.

The employee told police he had no suspect or witness information, but thought it was a union employee because there was similar graffiti found in an employee elevator the previous week, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.
