The Arizona track and field team had three individuals earn NCAA provisional qualifying times at the Texas Relays in Austin, this weekend.

"We had a very good weekend considering the competition that was at the meet," UA head coach Dave Murray said.

Junior Jeff Dutoit had a 17-foot-10 1/2 inch vault to finish second in the pole vault competition Saturday, good enough to provisionally qualify for June's NCAA Championships.

Also qualifying was sophomore Ola Larsen, who was third in the javelin toss with a 224-4 mark.

"Overall, we had a productive meet with some personal bests and NCAA provisional times," Murray said.

The Wildcats' lone winner at the meet was freshman Tara Chaplin in the 5,000-meters, also good for an NCAA qualifying mark.

Arizona next competes at the Sun Angel Invitational in Tempe Saturday afternoon.
