Throughout the ages, art has been used as an outlet of self-expression, and never has this been more evident than at today's Dr. Martin Luther King Millennium Celebration exhibit, "Art Culture and Human Struggle." Student's art will be on display in the Museum of Art during normal business hours. A special ceremony and reception will be held today at 5 p.m. featuring guest lecturer Mikelle Omari-Tunkara. For more information, please call Alex Wright or James Schaub at 621-3419 or 621-7567.

Grab your beach blanket and lather on the sunscreen, the Women's Resource Center is getting you out on the UA Mall and into the beat. A special musical performance will be held at noon, giving you and your friends some background music for a mini-extension of your spring break. The concert is free and will last about an hour. For more information on future programming, please call Kate at 621-3919.

At today's Archeological Institute of America lecture, students will learn first-hand how the past shapes the future. At 4 p.m., UA regents professor David Soren will lead a discussion on, "Witchcraft, Water Cults, and Malaria in Ancient Rome." Various aspects of Roman culture will be discussed as well as their relevance in today's society. The lecture takes place in Modern Languages building, Room 350 and is free and open to the public. For more information, please call Lynne Kvapil or Mary Voyatzis at 621-1689.

A woman's role in society has been as varied as the vendors on the UA Mall, and at today's 3:30 p.m. Department of French and Italian lecture, "Writing Change: African Women as Social Critics," a few of these positions will be discussed. The forum will take place in Modern Languages building, Room 411 and will be led by female novelist Ken Bugul. Seating for this free lecture is limited and offered on a first come, first serve basis. For more information, please call Irene d'Almeida at 621-3797 or 621-7349.

The time has come to extend your arm, right or left, to the people and donate blood to the Bluebird Bloodmobile on the Mall today. This blood drive is sponsored by Campus Health Services and is open to all qualifying volunteers. Bloodmobile doors will be open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. to take appointments and walk-ins. Volunteers will be rewarded with the satisfaction that they are saving lives in the Tucson area, as well as an edible reward - crunchy cookies and sweet juice before you go. For more information or to make an appointment, please call Kelly Moyer at 917-2820.
