PULLMAN, Wash - UA junior guard Julie Brase scored a career-high 22 points to lead Arizona to a 106-60 rout of Washington State on Saturday.
Five other Arizona players also scored in double figures, led by senior forward Elizabeth Pickney's 21. Freshman guard Dee-Dee Wheeler and freshman guard Robin Roberson had 19 each, freshman forward Danielle Adefeso had 12 points, and sophomore guard Aimee Grzyb scored 10.
Brittney Hawks led the Cougars (2-22, 0-14 Pac-10) with 20 points and nine rebounds. It was Hawks' 18th game reaching double figures in scoring and her fourth 20-point game of the season.
The Wildcats scored on 40 of 68 field goal attempts, while the Cougars shot just 24-of-69 from the field.
Arizona (12-12, 8-7) got off to a solid start, opening the game with seven consecutive points in the first 1:42.
The Cougars rallied with a 14-3 run to take a 14-10 lead with 14:07 left in the first half.
But Arizona came back with an 11-0 run to open a 21-14 lead with 10:56 remaining. The Wildcats headed into halftime with a decisive 51-28 lead, and dominated the rest of the game.
