The Olympic dreams of UA assistant rugby coach Matt Dallow have been put on hold due to a broken fibula he suffered while training.
Dallow was scheduled to compete in Salt Lake City at the Winter Olympics as a member of the New Zealand two-man bobsled team.
However, because of the injury, he will be unable to fulfill his lifelong dream of competing in the Olympics, at least at the XIX games.
Dallow was the only participant in the games with ties to Tucson or UA.
The good news for Dallow is that he did get to walk into Rice-Eccles Olympic Stadium with his fellow New Zealanders at the opening ceremonies. Dallow is still in Salt Lake City with his teammates and will undergo more tests this week to see the extent of the injury, said UA head rugby coach Dave Sitton.
