The No. 9 Gymcats improved their record to 7-2 overall and 2-1 in Pacific 10 Conference competition, by defeating a depleted California squad Friday night, 194.725-138.825.
Arizona remains undefeated at home this season (4-0), while Cal fell to 3-3, 1-3 Pac-10.
The Golden Bears competed with an incomplete lineup, due to injuries and illness to its athletes, allowing Arizona to walk away with the match easily.
The Wildcats were paced by freshman Monica Bisordi, who won her first career all-around title with a score of 39.125. Bisordi tied with freshman Stevie Fanning for first on beam (9.750), placed third on vault (9.825), and fifth on floor (9.800). Bisordi also finished with a career-high 9.750 on bars, good for third overall.
Freshman Katie Johnson also helped lead the Gymcats by winning her fourth floor title of the season. Johnson tied a career high with 9.975 in the event, while also finishing third on beam (9.725) and fourth on vault (9.800).
Senior Randi Liljenquist and sophomore Andi McCabe also contributed solid performances for Arizona. Liljenquist completed a sweep of second-place finishes in the all-around, vault, bars and floor. McCabe won her third vault title of season with a score of 9.875.
"I'm very proud of the efforts our gymnasts made on floor and vault tonight," said Arizona head coach Bill Ryden. "Our team has very high expectations. Each gymnast knows they that they need to bring their best each time out."
Arizona next heads up to Corvallis, Ore., on Friday to take on Oregon State.
