Executive officers choose new cabinet members

When the appointed positions of the Associated Students of the University of Arizona were announced yesterday, the list contained a mix of both new and old faces.

Student who lost his eye in riots gets favorable ruling

Cheers were heard as the champagne flowed at Carl Piccaretta's office yesterday in celebration of Jeff Knepper's $765,000 victory.

The jury, which took more than eight hours to deliberate, found Knepper 49 percent responsible for his injury. Awarding him only 51 percent of the $1.5.million the jury had originally decided on. [Read article]

It was prompted by the Oct. 28, 2002 shooting of three nursing professors by a disgruntled student who had exhibited threatening behavior in the past, but never been disciplined. [Read article]

On the Spot

Swim team members eat salads, don't smoke, and one takes part in an event that sounds like a cell phone

WILDCAT: Undecided? Why?

WILLIS: I think I want to do communications.

WILDCAT: What will you do with that?

WILLIS: I don't know. I kind of want to go to broadcasting, or something along those lines.

WILDCAT: Go into journalism, that's the best way to go for that stuff. OK, just out of curiosity, why the salads? I've been on this salad kick myself. I'm trying to lose some weight. [Read article]
