Men in heels

Spartan Daily
San Jose State University

Men sporting high-heeled women's shoes hoped to spike up a level of support to end sexual assault and violence in Saturday's Men's March Against Rape.

The walk, which was organized by the Santa Clara Valley YWCA and the Valley Trauma Center, attracted about 150 participants, including 70 men who were willing to complete the walk wearing women's shoes.

The peaceful demonstrators held signs that stated, "Would you walk a mile in her shoes?" and "Put yourself in her shoes."

"I definitely give women a lot of credit for wearing high heels," said Grayson Kochi, a junior from De Anza College, who participated in the walk. "It's definitely harder than it looks."

Daily Mississippian
University of Mississippi

The ticket-buying process for University of Mississippi sporting events has just entered the 21st century.

Through the Ole Miss ticket office's new Web site, students will now be able to buy their season football passes on the Internet and bypass the lines that have become commonplace in recent years.

In fact, the Internet will be the only way students can buy tickets. Using a credit card, students can purchase their season ticket packages. The tickets will be "credited" to their student ID card account.

The ticket holder then presents his or her student ID at the gate where it will be scanned and the ticket holder will be admitted.

Brawling Buckeyes

The Lantern
Ohio State University

After punching former teammate Tyson Walter on the practice field over three years ago, former Ohio State offensive lineman LeCharles Bentley was ordered by a jury in Franklin County Common Pleas Court Wednesday to pay Walter $6,000 in damages.

"He can have [the $6,000]," a smiling Bentley told reporters after the verdict was announced.

Bentley received a $1.6 million signing bonus when he signed with the New Orleans Saints last season.

Walter, who suffered a broken nose, fractured cheek and three fractured teeth from Bentley's punch, sought several hundred thousand dollars from Bentley.
