Pac-10 meet next up for cross-country

The UA men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Los Angeles for the Pacific 10 Conference Championships tomorrow.

The meet, held by UCLA at the Brookside Golf Course, will begin with the women's 6,000-meter race at 9:30 a.m., followed by the men's 8,000-meter race at 10:30 a.m.

The Wildcat women placed second and the men finished fourth at last year's meet.

The Wildcats will be taking seven women and eight men to the meet this weekend.

The men will be competing against No. 1 Stanford, No. 5 Oregon and No. 25 Arizona State, as well as the rest of the Pac-10.

The women's team will face several ranked teams, also, including No. 2 Stanford, No. 17 Arizona State, No. 19 UCLA and No. 25 Washington.

Wildcat swimming and diving opens season this weekend

The No. 9 Arizona women and No. 10 Arizona men's swimming and diving teams open the season in a quad meet at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center this weekend.

The Wildcat men compete against Wisconsin, Auburn and the Mexican National Team.

The women's squad will face off against Wisconsin and the Mexican National Team.

Head coach Frank Busch said he is excited to start the season, but is concerned about the amount of injuries on the men's team.

"I feel like I am ready to start the season," Busch said. "It should be interesting to see how this team starts off. We have a lot of injuries. A third of my team won't participate on the men's side this weekend."
