The Icecats will have a new look this weekend when the team debuts a new third jersey against DePaul.
When asked what the new game sweaters would look like, head coach Leo Golembiewski kept quiet about the specifics.
"We want our fans to be surprised," Golembiewski said. "We think they look great, and we think our fans will, too. If they want to know what they look like, they should come out to the games."
Starting with its two-game sweep over Colorado State (10-3-1) at home, and continuing with the team's two-game set tomorrow and Saturday against DePaul, the No. 6 Icecats (6-3) are in the midst of a 12-game homestand, spanning over two full months.
Arizona next hits the road when it travels to St. Louis for a two-game series on January 24 and 25, as the start of a six game road trip that includes matches at Arizona State and CSU.
"Obviously we do it for economic reasons," Golembiewski said. "We are completely self-sufficient, so every trip we take is a major financial burden."
Golembiewski adds that the team should have two major trips remaining, on top of heading to nearby ASU and CSU ÷ the trip to St. Louis, and plans for its 21st-straight trip to the nationals.
For the Icecats' upcoming home games on Dec. 6 and 7 against ASU, fans should buy their tickets early from the Tucson Convention Center Box Office, or call the TCC at 791-4101.
"We expect huge turnouts every time we play ASU," said senior captain Bill Pardue. "I heard that last year we had to turn away three or four-hundred people."
Last spring's series against ASU on Feb. 26 and 27 saw consecutive sellouts for the Icecats, with over 7,100 in attendance on both nights.
Through six home contests so far, Golembiewski estimates that the Icecats have drawn approximately 4,500 fans per game.
"We are the number one draw in all of the ACHA," Golembiewski said. "Our fan support can't be beat."
