photo A Îfrustrating' blowout: UA 91, Saint Louis 58

Another home game, another 30-point victory. But judging by the mood in the locker room, you would never have known.

The tempo wasn't the same, the excitement wasn't there, and despite last night's 91-58 win over Saint Louis in McKale Center, players and coaches alike felt there was a lot of room for improvement.

"It was kind of slow and frustrating," senior forward Rick Anderson said. "We didn't have a lot of good ball movement, and it was hard to get to the glass. They were after us." [Read article]

Game Analysis: Wildcats bored by Billikens

It wasn't Wisconsin out there last night, but Saint Louis sure played like the Badgers, and a few Wildcats sure did remember.

"I think we were bored out there tonight," said sophomore shooting guard Salim Stoudamire, who played in his first game of the season. "Even the guys on the bench were saying how boring it was." [Read article]

"We are continuing to turn over the stones to try and find someone, somewhere that can help us," head coach John Mackovic said. [Read article]

With no current player on the UA roster to fill the void, head coach David Rubio had to look outside his program.

Luckily for him, Laurie Gardner, a senior transfer from Indiana, fell into his lap.

Gardner, a native of West Bend, Wisc., played in 87 of 89 matches in her three-year career with the Hoosiers, but said she wanted a chance to come to a program that would give her an opportunity to win a national championship. [Read article]
