· Year: Senior
· Position: Outside hitter
· Major: Criminal justice
· Latest Highlight: Torregrosa's senior leadership was instrumental in Arizona's win over Texas last week that propelled the team to its fourth consecutive Sweet 16. Freshman All-American candidate Kim Glass was pulled in the third game and Torregrosa helped Glass regain her confidence. Glass returned to the lineup in the fourth game and led the Wildcats to the 3-2 victory. "Her leadership has been great for me," Glass said. "She is one of the only players that gets through to me. Regardless of her stats, her leadership has been so important to me and the team."
Wildcat: What is your favorite UA moment?
Torregrosa: Stefani (Saragosa) and I decided to stay home one night with Malosi Leonard (former UA football player) to play drinking games. He thought he could out-drink both of us. Malosi and I went outside, and when we came back Stefani was in the sink getting sick all over herself. I had to pull her hair out of the sink. It was so funny.
Wildcat: What are your thoughts on Justin Levassuer being caught with 87 pounds of marijuana?
Torregrosa: I'm surprised, but I'm not. He always thinks he is smarter than everyone. I want to be a detective and I think he is so stupid. Who speeds in a suspicious vehicle with out of state license plates with 87 pounds of marijuana in his car? He's so dumb. He was finally getting some playing time.
Wildcat: Last time you laughed so hard that you cried?
Torregrosa: Over Thanksgiving, Meghan (Cumpston), Jennifer (Abernathy) and Angie (Ayers) went to the top of a snow hill. Angie found a sled and Meghan went down the hill and burned her hands and almost fell off. It was hilarious.
Wildcat: Favorite movie?
Torregrosa: "Happy Gilmore."
Wildcat: What's in your CD player right now?
Torregrosa: Trina.
Wildcat: What are your plans after you graduate?
Torregrosa: I want to get into the CIA or FBI.
Wildcat: If you had one wish, and it can't be to live forever or to be rich, what would it be?
Torregrosa: I would want to be a vampire so I could live forever.
Wildcat: That shouldn't count but I'll give you that. Now, if you were stranded on a desert island and you could have one thing, what would it be?
Torregrosa: The game Bop It. It challenges me and gives me something to do.
Wildcat: If you could fly, where would you go right now?
Torregrosa: Bora Bora, because it is so peaceful and quiet. It looks like a fun place.
Wildcat: Favorite professional athlete.
Torregrosa: Ken Caminiti, because he played third and that's what I played in softball.
Wildcat: What are you doing for the holidays?
Torregrosa: I'm going to Puerto Rico to begin training. I'm playing in a professional league over there.
Wildcat: What do you want for the holidays?
Torregrosa: I want a shopping spree to the mall. It doesn't matter what store.
Wildcat: What would it mean for you to end your volleyball career in New Orleans?
Torregrosa: This team has been through so much and going out on top would make me very proud.
