Arizona soccer assistant coach Casey Mann has resigned after his second year under head coach Cathy Klein, effective January 17.
Mann is leaving to further his coaching career in his home state of Iowa, where he was a head coach in the Des Moines club system and at the Iowa Olympic Development Program.
"Casey has made many great contributions to our young, developing program," Klein said.
As an assistant he was primarily responsible for the development of goalkeepers. Mann held the same position while coaching at Arizona State during the 1999-00 season.
Mann's other coaching experience includes stints as the women's assistant coach and men's goalkeeper coach at Grand View College, in Des Moines, Iowa. He also tutored the goalkeeping staff for the Iowa United Soccer Club in Des Moines.
As goalkeeper for the Des Moines Menace, Mann helped them reach two consecutive Final Four appearances and two top ten finishes in the USL Development league.
"We are grateful for all of the effort he has put into our program over the last two seasons," Klein said. "We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors."
The search for a replacement will begin immediately.
