The Arizona baseball team blew a four-run lead in the ninth inning and gave up a walk-off home run yesterday to lose the final game of a three-game set 12-11 at Washington.

Washington second baseman Greg Isaacson hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 11th inning yesterday in Seattle. It marked the first time this season the Wildcats were swept by a Pac-10 opponent.

Arizona (21-18-1, 5-7 Pacific 10 Conference) lost the series opener on Friday 6-1 and dropped Saturday's contest 7-6 to the Huskies.

Ahead 11-3 heading to the bottom of the sixth, the Wildcats gave up nine unanswered runs, including four in the ninth off junior closer Derek Rodriguez to allow the Huskies to win the game in extra innings. Rodriguez was charged with the loss after giving up five runs in 1 2/3 innings.

Isaacson's homer was one of six on the day for Washington.

Arizona built a 3-0 lead early in Saturday's game, but couldn't hold off the Huskies.

Arizona broke a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning with an eight-run outburst, highlighted by home runs from juniors John Hardy and Jeff Van Houten.

The Wildcats entered their half of the ninth trailing 6-5, but were able to scrap together a run to extend the contest. Hardy doubled to lead off the inning and later scored on a wild pitch by Washington closer Trent Baysinger.

But UW catcher Aaron Hathaway drove in the game-winning run on a fielder's choice ground ball with one out in the bottom of the ninth.

With the score knotted at 6-6 and runners on the corners, Hathaway hit a ground ball to senior UA third baseman Moises Duran. Duran threw the ball to junior second baseman John Hardy for a force out at second, but Hardy's throw to first was too late to get Hathaway.

Sophomore catcher Nick Hundley was the lone Wildcat to finish the game with multiple hits, going 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Arizona starter Kevin Guyette went 4 2/3 innings, giving up six runs, four of which were earned, but freshman Mark Melancon picked up the loss for Arizona, giving up one earned run in 3 2/3 innings.

Arizona wasted another complete game by junior Koley Kolberg and lost 6-1 Friday to Washington. The Wildcats gave up all six Husky runs in the first inning and left 13 runners on base in the series opener.

Hundley scored the Wildcats' only run on a single by Van Houten.

It was Kolberg's third complete-game loss of the year.

Arizona hits the road again next weekend, this time to the Bay area to take on California.
