photo Mackovic returns to roots

Arizona head football coach John Mackovic has made 13 stops during his 38 years in football, but few can compare to the single season he spent in West Lafayette, Ind.

It was at Purdue that he jumpstarted his head coaching career.

Mackovic's one-year adventure as assistant head coach and offensive coordinator with Purdue in 1977 was one of the most memorable of his career ÷ thanks to Mark Hermann, a name that makes most Boilermakers fans giddy in their hardhats. [Read article]

Volleyball heads to Pullman for Pac-10 opener

Arizona volleyball would be wise not to let Washington State's 2003 record and lack of returning starters fool them into believing their trip to Pullman will be easy.
