Wildcat: What do you think about the WUSA situation?

Wilks: Honestly·it's sad. Americans don't have the appreciation that Europeans and Africans have for soccer. Especially this, because it's a women's sport.

Wildcat: What is the furthest you have ever booted a ball?

Wilks: What? (Laughs) Probably from half-field, about 60 · or 70 yards.

Wildcat: How do you feel about the not-being-able-to-tear-your-shirt-off rule?

Wilks: (Laughs) Well that rule hasn't affected me too much. (Laughs) But, if a woman wants to tear her shirt off after scoring she should be free to do so. It's not like an over-18 show or anything.

Wildcat: Who did you think would win the WNBA finals?

Wilks: I don't (laughs) know! Who are the teams? At least the league isn't getting ixnayed.

Wildcat: Well I don't know who's in it·

Wildcat: If you could time travel, would you go to the past or future?

Wilks: The future because we already know so much about the past, if I could go to the future, and I could start a trend. I mean I could come back and know what happens · I'd be the smartest person in the world. I could alter the future! (Laughs)

Wildcat: Or make womens' soccer the world's most popular sport?

Wilks: Definitely!

Name: Candice Wilks
Team: Soccer
Position: Forward
Year: Junior
Major: Undeclared
Hometown: Altadena, Calif.
Why she won: Candice Wilks scored the game winner in the 82nd minute versus Northern Arizona, bringing an end to a two game losing slide. It was Wilks' fourth goal in five games. Wilks is a two-time Pac-10 honorable mention and was named UA co-newcomer of the year in 2001.

Wildcat:: Who should be the Gov of California?

Wilks: (Laughs) What kind of questions are these?! I don't know·

Wildcat: What is your best summer memory that you can tell the public about?

Wilks: Nothing eventful happened, (long pause) I didn't do anything, I was here.

Wildcat: In class, if you actually go, do you sit in the back, middle or front?

Wilks: I go! I frequent class. I generally tend to sit in the middle, so I can get lost in the crowd.

Wildcat: What is the best class you've taken at the UA?

Wilks: Spanish 101.

Wildcat: No, not the easiest·

Wilks: (Laughs) African American Art history 339.

Wildcat: What is your favorite way of cooking?

Wilks: Microwave. This is assuming I cook·watching my roommates cook and eating their food.

Wildcat: What do you want to see UA build next?

CW: (Without hesitation) A soccer field on campus so people can actually come.

Wildcat: Have you bought a Zona Zoo pass?

CW: No ·(laughs)· it'll be on my list of things to do·
