Sophomore Henry Liaw led the Arizona men's golf team to a season-low 54-hole score on its way to a third-place finish this weekend in Wahiawa, Hawaii, in the John A. Burns Intercollegiate.
Liaw was the top individual finisher for the Wildcats, placing ninth in the event, 11 shots behind tournament winner Ryan Moore of UNLV.
New Mexico won the 22-team event, two strokes ahead of UNLV and five shots in front of Arizona.
Only one Arizona golfer shot better than par for the Wildcats on the tournament's final day.
Freshman Travis Esway carded a 69 on his way to a 19tth-place finish.
Senior Nathan Lashley was the only other Arizona player to finish in the top 20. He finished 17th.
The Wildcats compete March 18-20 in the Hall of Fame Invitational in Houston.
