Smock: Daily Wildcat confused my message

Just for the record, I did not say Jews are only good at making bagels or that Mexicans are only good for tacos, as the Wildcat repeatedly printed. Actually, what I said about both ethnic groups was complimentary. Someone asked me what I thought about Jews. I answered, "They are usually good capitalists, educated and rarely on welfare. They also gave us the bagel, and I like bagels." Later when asked about the bagel statement, I said that all ethnic groups have made their culinary contributions, for instance, "The Mexicans gave us the taco, but not only the taco, but also the burrito."

I also repeatedly explained that the greatest contributions of the Jews to the world are the Torah, the Prophets and Jesus, the Messiah. Of course, most Jews do not appreciate Jesus, since few believe that he is the Messiah, as He claimed. Nor do many Jewish students take the Torah or the Prophets seriously.

If one cannot rationally refute a speaker, it is an old trick to label him as a racist, then one does not have to address his arguments.

The primary (not only) role of women is to be wives and mothers. Of course, radical feminists hate that idea. The primary role of men is to be husbands and fathers. But college boys usually do not find that role attractive, because it requires commitment and responsibility.

The Wildcat cautions that mailbag letters "should refrain from personal attacks." Yet many of the letters the paper printed were personal attacks against me. Some will say my campus messages were personal attacks, but my remarks were generalizations concerning the immorality of the students. Remember, a generalization implies exceptions. Apparently, the Holy Spirit was personalizing the message to many. This is the ministry of the Holy Spirit. I did not point out any particular girl as a whore. I would not do this, unless she brazenly confessed to being sexually active outside of Holy Matrimony.

I make a point to be politically incorrect. Jesus claimed to be the only way to the Heavenly Father (John 14:6). His Truth is in opposition to the multicultural, pluralistic propaganda that passes for an education, which students have heard in the classroom from first grade through graduate school.

New student section worse than before

While I applaud the general notion of creating a single and unified student section, my initial reaction to the new plan unveiled by the athletic department is not positive. Most notably I think the plan will actually decrease crowd energy during games in McKale Center. A cursory examination of the plan reveals that students have now been removed from their courtside seats in sections seven through 11. These sections, located at the end of the court where our team plays offense in the second half, were formerly the heart of the student section. Now they will belong to the public, and the courtside seats will fall into the laps of the wealthy and docile fans that currently occupy both sides of center court. So when our team begins their second-half rally - as is their custom - they won't have the energy of the student section to carry them. Instead, students will be cheering from the opposite end, and from sections high up in the dark recesses of McKale Center. Not only will there be less energy in McKale, but also the student section's presence on national television will be significantly diminished by the plan. As the cameras follow Hassan's acrobatics and Kirk's newfound two-handed dunks, expect to see a backdrop of elderly fans relaxing in their seats. Perhaps they'll even clap to cheer the team onward.

Thefacebook addicts represent UA campus

Dan Post wrote: "Do we really want a bunch of facebook addicts running ASUA?"

If we were going to begin to disclude Thefacebook addicts from things, my classes would be empty, the union would have available seating, and I might finally be able to find a parking spot. There's just no denying that our entire campus is one big Thefacebook addict!

I think we should vote for people who are using Thefacebook; because if these people are using Thefacebook, then they're basically representing the majority of our campus.
