A student tried to steal a $67.25 "El Mundo 21" book Sept. 1 from the UofA Bookstore, 1209 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

When police arrived, the student admitted that she put the book in her backpack.

The student told police she was going to pay for the book after she got a refund on another Spanish book that she didn't need.

The student was cited for stealing and released.

She was told she was not allowed to come in the bookstore again, reports stated.


Someone found several items including a Zona Zoo pass, a cell phone and a debit card the morning of Sept. 1 at the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

A UA employee gave police the items in a small plastic bag.

Police placed the items into property, reports stated.


A student's $200 teal 21-speed mountain bike was stolen sometime between Aug. 29 and Aug. 30 from the Art History building, 1031 N. Olive Ave., reports stated.

The student told police he locked his bike with a cable lock around noon Aug. 29, and when he returned around 11 a.m. the next day his bike was gone.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


The passenger rear door and fender on a woman's Ford Taurus were damaged Aug. 30 while the vehicle was parked in the Second Street Garage, 1340 E. Second St., reports stated.

When police arrived, the woman told them she had parked her car around 8 a.m. and when she returned around 5 p.m. she noticed the damage.

Police saw that there were several white scratches and a dent on the passenger side of the car.

The woman told police she had not noticed any cars parked around her that could have done the damage.

The woman said whoever had done that damage had not left a note.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A student's $140 white purse, $180 pair of sunglasses and $90 calculator were stolen Sept. 1 from her room in the Santa Cruz Residence Hall, 1420 E. Fifth St., reports stated.

When police arrived, the student told them she had gone to her friend's room around 9 p.m. and left her room open. The student said she returned around 15 minutes later to find her things gone.

The student said she searched her entire room and hadn't been able to find the items.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A student admitted to smoking marijuana Sept. 1 after his resident assistant in the Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., smelled marijuana and called police, reports stated.

When police arrived, they asked the student if he knew why they were there. The student said he did and it was because of the marijuana, reports stated.

The student said he smoked a joint earlier, but did not have anything else in his room.

The student told police he had bought the marijuana from a man who had been walking around Coronado.

The student was referred to the dean of students, reports stated.


Police found four keys on a plain silver key ring Aug. 31, in a Zone 1 parking lot, 520 N. Euclid Ave., reports stated.

Police were unable to find the owner of the keys.

The keys were placed into property, reports stated.


A student's $80 dark gray bike was stolen Aug. 31 from the Art Museum, 1031 N. Olive Ave., reports stated.

When police arrived the student said he locked his bike with a cable lock around 10 a.m., and when he returned around 3:30 p.m. his bike was gone.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A man backed his semi-truck into a brick wall at the Physics and Atmospheric Science building, 1118 E. Fourth St., reports stated.

When police arrived the man told them he had been trying to connect his truck to a trailer when he hit the wall.

Police saw the wall was damaged.

The man said there was no damage to his truck, reports stated.


A UA employee's ex-husband called her Aug. 31, and violated an order of protection, reports stated.

The woman said her ex-husband left her a message saying she left stuff at the house and if she didn't pick it up, he would sell it.

The employee told police she had already picked up everything from the house and her ex-husband was just trying to get her to go over there.

The employee then said that the movers had called her and told her that her ex-husband was drinking.

The employee said she was worried about her ex-husband's welfare and didn't want to press charges, reports stated.
