Freshman doesn't believe in love at first sight, can tell reporter works for the paper
Wildcat: Hi, my name's Nathan and you're on the spot. Do you believe in love at first sight?
Coombs: Not love, per se.
Wildcat: What? Lust?
Coombs: I believe in attraction that can lead to love, but I don't think I believe in love at first sight.
Wildcat: A lot of girls I've talked to feel that way. Why is that? Guys will be like, "Yeah."
Coombs: I just think that you can know that you really like that person, but I don't think you can really know a person until you've talked to them and gotten to know them. There's so much you can get, like, personality is just so much. Personally, I can't read a person and be like, "Oh that person has that kind of personality."
Wildcat: You can't tell what kind of personality I have?
Coombs: Well, I can guess.
Wildcat: Guess.
Coombs: Well, you work for the newspaper. ... You have nice cameras so you probably do a lot of photo taking.
Wildcat: This is actually theirs.
Coombs: See, that's what I would guess.
Wildcat: That's what you mean though. Case in point.
Coombs: Right. So, yeah, I don't believe in love at first sight, but I believe you can be like, "Wow, that person is definitely someone that has major potential."
Wildcat: What do you look for in a guy?
Coombs: I don't really know. I haven't dated a lot.
Wildcat: Have you ever been in love?
Coombs: No. Well, other than friends, well, no, not that kind of love. No.
Wildcat: Cool. Do you look forward to it?
Coombs: Yeah, I do. I do look forward to that.
Wildcat: I think I do too. I think that will be cool. One of these days.
Coombs: Someday. That's definitely one of the experiences I'm hoping to get aside from the academic experience of college.
Wildcat: Cool. What class are you off to right now?
Coombs: I'm off to MIS 111.
Wildcat: Well, good luck. Maybe you'll be attracted to someone, and maybe it will lead to love.
