On Friday, Our Cure the Rocketship, along with Free to Go and Messenger Boy, will be playing at Gameworks in Foothills Mall at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $15. For more information call 620-1824.

Also on Friday, Folsom, Beneath the Ashes, Far Less Picturesque and Single Broken Wish will be opening for the Hoods at Skrappy's temporary location, 831 E. 17th St. The show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets cost $6. Call 620-1824 for more details or go to www.skrappys.com.

If you are new in town, check out Club Congress's Teknotika, featured every Saturday night. This Saturday, DJ Ezraka will spin techno tracks for a $3 cover charge. The club is located at 311 E. Congress St. in Hotel Congress. For more details, call 622-8848 or go to www.hotcong.com.

On Wednesday, Sept. 4th, Hatebreed and Mushroomhead headline with Gat-Rot and Coercion opening the bill at Rialto Theatre, 318 E.. Congress St. Tickets are $19 in advance at all Zia Record Exchange locations. Doors open at 8 p.m. For more information, call 798-3333.

Beginning tonight, The Women's Gallery will open its first photography show. The opening reception runs Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., 3610 N. Prince Village Pl., Suite 100. The show runs through Sept. 27. Call 795-5088 for more details.

On Friday, check out the Oscar-winning international film of 1999, "All About My Mother." Playing in Modern Languages auditorium, Room 350. The show will start at 7:30 and admission is free.

At Bookman's on Grant Road and Campbell Avenue, blues duo Steve Grams and Danny Krieger will play a free show on Saturday, Aug. 31, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 325-5767 for more information.

On Sunday, Sept. 1, there will be a Bluegrass music jam session with members of the Desert Bluegrass Association at the Udall Recreation Center, 7200 East Tanque Verde Road.
