Garages, CatTran, enforcement services and disabled cart service still running
Those looking to stop by Parking and Transportation Services' offices today to pay parking tickets will be out of luck, as the department is closed for moving.
PTS, formerly located in the University Services Building, 888 N. Euclid Ave., is relocating to a new office in the Sixth Street Parking Garage, 1117 E. Sixth St, today. The garage office building, which is just north of East Sixth Street, is the first of three Highland construction projects.
Though PTS' offices are closed today and the phones will be down because of the move, garage cashiering, the CatTran shuttle and the daytime disabled cart service will be still be running, said Patrick Kass, PTS director.
Construction is not finished in the area where the new office will be located.
"It is going to be difficult to get to our doors for the next month, but inside there is more space," Kass said.
The garage, which was supposed to be half open in August, currently has 650 parking spaces available and the "target" date for the remaining 950 spaces to be completed is Jan. 1, Kass said.
The landscaping for the garage may not be done until March, Kass said.
