Soccer wins 1st Pac-10 crown
The No. 10 UA soccer team's quest for its first conference title may have taken a few detours during the final weekend of league play, but the Wildcats still managed to finish right on course and are now the newest leaders of the Pac-10.

Cats dominate first exhibition mathup
The Arizona basketball had a day of highs and lows in a 110-78 victory over Team Georgia yesterday in McKale Center.

There is no doubt the No. 22 Arizona volleyball team knows how to win.
After sweeping Oregon State (30-18, 30-20, 30-17) Friday night at McKale Center, the squad's conference record finally reflects that.
For the first time this season, the Wildcats (15-8) hold a winning Pacific-10 Conference record with seven wins against six losses.
Arizona hit .393 on the night and held the Beavers to a .107 hitting percentage. The Wildcats also out-blocked Oregon State 10.5 to one.

Just one goal separated the No. 20 UA Icecats and No. 6 Weber State Wildcats in a pair of penalty-filled games Friday and Saturday.
Arizona became familiar with the penalty box, serving the equivalent of two periods there in Friday's 5-5 overtime tie and Saturday's 6-5 loss.
"The officiating was atrocious," Icecat head coach Leo Golembiewski said. "Our guys played with incredible heart when they weren't spending the whole game in the penalty box."

Both Wildcat tennis squads falter early at ITA indoor championships
It's a good thing playing matches against tough competition matters more than results in preseason tournaments for the UA men's and women's tennis team, as both squads were shut out of the victory column at the 2004 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships this weekend in Ann Arbor, Mich.
The singles tournament featured the top 32 players in the nation while the country's 16 best doubles teams could be found in the draw, for both the men and the women.
