A woman was charged with driving with a suspended license after she was pulled over for speeding at 1054 W. Ebner Place at 2:04 p.m. Jan. 11, reports stated.

When police checked the woman's records, she had two warrants out for her arrest, one for shoplifting at the Tucson Convention Center and another for driving with a

suspended license in Nogales, reports stated.

Police advised the woman of the warrants and told her not to drive until her license was reinstated, reports stated.

Police cited the woman and released her on the scene.


An employee received two suspicious letters at the Arizona State Museum on 1031 E. University Blvd. at 11:18 a.m. Jan. 11, reports stated.

The letters were postmarked from Long Island, N.Y., and were dated Jan. 5, reports stated.

The employee told police the letters looked abnormal and were not opened before police arrived, reports stated.

The officers did not want to open the letters on site so they sent them to the station for diffusion, reports stated.

Police inspected the unopened letters with latex gloves and checked for residue but found none, reports stated.

Police found only one blank sheet of college-ruled paper in each letter, reports stated.

The letters and envelopes were placed into evidence.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


Police found two unattended plastic bags containing clothes and other personal items in the UA Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd. at 1:42 p.m. Jan. 11, reports stated.

Next to the two plastic bags, police found a flowery

duffel bag with a woman's name written inside, reports said.

Police believe another woman is the owner of the bags and property, reports stated.

The bags contained shirts, blouses, pants, socks, wigs, a corset, makeup, condoms, a journal, an address book, a small purse, a coin purse and other toiletries, reports stated.

Police placed the property into evidence.


A man was arrested for possession of marijuana after two men said the man was in possession of their stolen bike Jan. 11 at 4:27 p.m., reports stated.

A bus driver contacted police and said two men pulled up beside the bus the man was riding in and told the bus driver a yellow bike on the front of the bus was theirs, reports stated.

The bus driver stopped at the next bus stop and

contacted police, reports stated.

When police arrived on the scene at North Cherry Avenue and East University Boulevard, the two men who spoke to the bus driver had left minutes earlier, reports

stated.

Police questioned the suspect about the bike, who denied it was stolen. The man said he could prove he was the owner of the bike with a receipt he had at home from Play it Again Sports, reports stated.

Police did a background check on the suspect and found he had three warrants, police stated.

Police searched the man and found four bags of marijuana, reports stated.

Police took the man into custody and placed the bags of marijuana in evidence, reports stated.

The bike was placed in evidence, reports stated.

Police booked the man to Pima County Jail, reports

stated.


Four parking meters were stolen sometime before 1:50 p.m. on Jan. 11 from East Second Street and North Martin Avenue, reports stated.

Parking and Transportation Services realized the meters were missing during a routine meter check of the area, reports stated.

Two coin-operated meters are attached to each pole, and two of the poles had been uplifted from the cement, reports stated.

PTS told police the meters were not scheduled for repair or removal, reports stated.

No other meters on the street were missing or damaged, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


An orange juice vending machine was damaged at Babcock Inn Residence Hall, 1717 E. Speedway Blvd., sometime before 9:04 a.m. on Jan. 10, reports stated.

The custodial staff at the hall told police they noticed the CatCard receptor had been burned, which left a black residue, reports state.

The CatCard receptor, however, was still functional, reports stated.

The custodial staff told police the vending machine had no damage the Friday afternoon before, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.
