A superintendent at the Park Student Union construction site, 601 S. Park Ave., reported damage to the fences surrounding the site Tuesday, reports stated.
Responding officers noticed that the fencing had been cut, but nothing else at the site was missing or damaged, reports stated.
The superintendent said the fence had been cut several times in the past by students looking to take a shortcut to the Arizona-Sonora and Coronado residence halls. The fences had "No Trespassing" signs posted on them, reports stated.
The superintendent told police he wants to press charges if any suspects are found.
UA officers arrested a student Monday after they were called to a campus building to find a potentially suicidal woman, reports stated.
Five officers responded to the Anthropology building, near North Park Avenue and East University Boulevard, after dispatch informed them that there was a woman there who might possibly harm herself or others. They did not know if she was armed or not, reports stated.
Officers found the female student speaking with a faculty member inside the building. Police observed that there was no immediate indication that she was attempting to hurt anyone, reports stated.
The student told police that she was fine and that she did not plan to hurt herself. Police inspected her arms, wrists and neck, finding no signs of injury, reports stated.
The student told police that she had spoken with a counselor from Southern Arizona Mental Health Corporation (SAMHC) about problems in the past. She declined to discuss those problems with the officers. The officers asked if she wanted to go with them to SAMHC and she said, "No, I don't want to go anywhere with you," reports stated.
Police initially concluded that there was not enough evidence to admit her involuntarily, but dispatch informed them that the student had an outstanding warrant from the Pima County Sheriff's office for issuing a bad check, reports stated.
Police arrested the student and took her to Pre-Trial Services, reports stated.
A UAPD officer stopped a black Honda for an inoperable tail-light in a parking lot west of Arizona Stadium, Monday, reports stated.
There were four males in the vehicle, but when the officer initiated the stop, the driver exited the vehicle, reports stated.
The officer told the driver to stand at the rear of the vehicle, but instead he walked to the passenger side to get the registration and proof of insurance, reports stated.
The driver told the officer that he was going to Bear Down Gym to play basketball and had left his license at home. He also said that he was driving his girlfriend's car, reports stated.
The driver initially gave the officer a fake name and social security number, but gave the right one after the officer told him that if he didn't he would be taken to Pima County Jail. The driver had three warrants out for his arrest, all for driving with a suspended license, reports stated.
He told police that he gave the fake name because he knew he had a UAPD warrant and he didn't want to go to jail. The windows of the car were rolled down and the officer could smell the faint odor of marijuana coming from inside, reports stated.
Additional officers responded to the scene and when the officer informed the driver that he was under arrest, the driver took off, running southbound on East Sixth Street, reports stated.
Two officers pursued him on foot and eventually caught him, grabbing him by the shoulders and holding him down on the ground. The officers were only able to handcuff him after several minutes of struggle, reports stated.
He told police that he had been a diversion for the other males to escape, but when they returned to the vehicle the other three males were still there.
The police conducted a high-risk traffic stop, patting down each male and placing him in handcuffs. One officer found a pipe and a bag of marijuana hidden under a car parked next to the suspect vehicle, reports stated.
The driver was charged with false reporting to an officer, resisting arrest, driving on a suspended license and failure to provide information. He was taken to Pima County Jail, reports stated.
