A student's car was involved in a hit and run collision Tuesday while it was parked on campus, reports stated.

Officers responded to the area where the student had moved her 1999 black Toyota Forerunner, at East Enke Drive and North Martin Avenue.

The student told police she had parked in a no parking zone in front of a building at 1540 E. Second Street for about five minutes. While she was inside the building, a 5-foot, 6-inch tall woman with brown hair asked if anyone had a black vehicle parked outside. The student claimed ownership, and the woman told her she hit it and went back outside, reports stated.

After the student walked up to the woman, the woman told her that since was parked in a no parking zone it wasn't her fault. The woman then got in a green minivan and told the student not to take down the license plate number because it was not her car and it wouldn't do anything, reports stated.

The woman drove away, and the student did not get the minivan's license plate number, reports stated. The Forerunner had damage to the front passenger side.

Officers also went to the building where the incident occurred, but the minivan was gone, reports stated.

Security called police after they saw that it was an office with expensive things in it. After officers determined that no one had entered through the window, they secured the scene, reports stated.

Police have no suspects.

A $450 bike was reported stolen Tuesday from outside a campus building, reports stated.

Someone damaged cabinet doors in the chemistry department over the weekend, reports stated.

Police responded to the Old Chemistry building, 1306 E. University Blvd., Monday morning after they received a report from an employee that someone had damaged four cabinet doors, reports stated.

The cabinets, which were in a classroom, were apparently forced open. And police noticed that one cabinet was chipped and another no longer opened correctly because one its hinges had been forced off the base. The locks on the door, however, were undamaged, reports stated.

Inside the cabinets was about $1,000 worth of audiovisual equipment, none of which was stolen or tampered with, reports stated.

The classroom is open to the public and isn't secured by any locks. Both the east and west doors to the classroom are not secured every day. The building is open during the week during school hours and secured for the weekend, reports stated.
