With the start of the regular season only four days away, head coach Lute Olson still has his focus turned to his team, not the teams that the Wildcats are playing.

When Arizona hits the floor tonight at 7:30 in McKale Center against the Nike Elite team, many of the Wildcat players won't even know who's on the opposing roster.

"I have no idea what we're going to see, because we don't have tapes on them and I don't know who's on their team," senior forward Luke Walton said. [Read article]

Latest Highlight: Wells had two interceptions in the Wildcats' 52-41 win over California this past weekend. He was the team's leading tackler, with seven, and ran one of his interceptions back for a 42-yard touchdown. Wells also had a tackle for a loss and broke up two passes. [Read article]

Volleyball Notes: Rubio happy for football team, coach

Last weekend, the UA football team surprised the Tucson community when it defeated California.

The win was a big step for the Wildcat football program, and women's volleyball head coach David Rubio was very happy for John Mackovic, the football players and the Arizona athletic department.

Rubio said that the meeting that 40 players had with President Peter Likins and Mackovic's press conference was the best thing that could have happened for the struggling Wildcats. [Read article]

A look back at the year in soccer

This was almost it.

This year was very nearly the season that Arizona soccer had been waiting for, the year that the national spotlight would finally fall on Tucson and a top-six Pac-10 finish would earn the team its first-ever NCAA Tournament bid.

The season began true to the hype, but the reality of youth and inexperience took its toll on the Wildcats.

The best start in school history turned into another sub-.500 season, but UA should return everyone but two graduating seniors. Through the rises and falls, the women of Arizona soccer showed they have what it takes, and now the pressure for success is reaching a boiling point.
