Sport: football
Position: rover
Year: senior
Major: secondary education

Latest Highlight: Wells had two interceptions in the Wildcats' 52-41 win over California this past weekend. He was the team's leading tackler, with seven, and ran one of his interceptions back for a 42-yard touchdown. Wells also had a tackle for a loss and broke up two passes.

Wildcat: Describe the feeling of your win Saturday and what it meant to the team.

Wells: It's like any other win. We've lost so many games that we needed a win. It helped generate energy in our team, and (we) have a lot of positive emotions.

Wildcat: What's it like to run an interception back for a touchdown?

Wells: It's a great feeling, because it is rare that you get a chance to score on defense. It gave our team an attitude that we are playing well on both sides.

Wildcat: What's your favorite TV show?

Wells: "The Real World" or "The Practice."

Wildcat: What is the first thing you do when you wake up?

Wells: Kiss my wife.

Wildcat: What's it like balancing school, football and marriage?

Wells: It's been hard. We've been married for four months, and for three-and-a-half of those months, I've been tangled up with football. I come home and we usually eat dinner together every night. We try to go out at least once a week and spend all day Sunday together. It's really hard to balance social life, school work and football. She'll see me, but I'm usually doing something else, like homework, or watching film for an opponent; but she is really supportive.

Wildcat: What are your plans after graduation?

Wells: I want to become a teacher. I would like to move back to California. My family is there, my wife's family is from California, so most likely I'll move back to San Diego.

Wildcat: Who is your favorite band/artist?

Wells: My first love is Fred Hammond, a gospel singer, but if I had to choose any other music, it would probably be Nelly.

Wildcat: What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing football?

Wells: Either play basketball or swing the bat at the batting cages.

Wildcat: Who do you think will win the national championship?

Wells: I really think that Washington State has a chance to play in that game. Neither (Ohio State nor Miami) are guaranteed to be there. (Washington State) has just found ways to win games. If they get the opportunity to play in (the Fiesta Bowl) they have a good shot.

Wildcat: If you had a million dollars, what is the first thing you'd buy?

Wells: A house. A very big house.

Wildcat: If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?

Wells: Either Martin Luther King Jr. or Julius Caesar.

Wildcat: Name one thing you are afraid of.

Wells: Failure.

Wildcat: Can you describe what a rover does for people who might not know?

Wells: I play outside linebacker. Sometimes I'll play a position similar to Lance Briggs and sometimes I'll play a position similar to Clay Hardt. Really, I play linebacker and strong safety, depending on the defense we are running and the formation that the offense is in.

Wildcat: This will be your last game coming up. What do you think will be going through your mind?

Wells: It will be a lot of emotion. In the past, high school and junior college, my last games have gone really well. I would like to go out on a winning note ÷ a positive note.

Wildcat: Do you have any words for the Sun Devils?

Wells: I don't really believe in all that trash talk through the media. I'd rather do it face-to-face. A lot of their guys said last year that they couldn't wait for next year and that they were going to come into our place and do this, or do that. I guess my one message to them is to be careful what you wish for.

Wildcat: Word association. Wildcat.

Wells: Winners.

Wildcat: Marriage.

Wells: Fantastic.

Wildcat: Number seven.

Wells: Lucky.

Wildcat: ASU.

Wells: Disgusting.
