Survey: UA students more disruptive than ever

Disruptive behavior in UA classrooms, including tardiness, talking and early departures has increased, according to a survey of general education faculty conducted last spring and summer.

The Office of the Dean of Students e-mailed the survey to all 280 faculty who teach tier one and tier two courses. Sixty instructors responded to the survey.

Faculty were asked to indicate the extent to which certain behaviors such as sleeping and dominating discussion, devices like beepers and cell phones, and lack of personal hygiene have disrupted their classrooms. [Read article]

Johnson tries to lead Cats to first Pac-10 win on Saturday

If the Wildcats want to climb out of the Pacific 10 Conference cellar, they better start tomorrow in Corvallis, Ore., against the Beavers.

Currently, Arizona (3-5, 0-4) is the only winless team in the Pac-10 and the Beavers could be the Wildcats' best remaining chance to get that first win. [Read article]
